Man dies after fire breaks out in house

A man in his 70s has died following a house fire in Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters were called to the property on Southcroft Walk, off Abbeydale Road, at about 04:48 BST.

They said crews "recovered the man from the house" but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A fire service spokesperson said an investigation into the cause of the blaze was under way.
