A woman has died following a collision on the M5 on Sunday morning.

The incident, involving a pedestrian and a lorry, was reported at 2:48 GMT on the northbound carriageway between the Bridgwater junctions.

The woman, aged in her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

The motorway has reopened between junctions 24 and 23 after a full closure earlier in the morning.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or might have dashcam footage to contact them.
