Aberdeen apologise to St Mirren fan after 'unacceptable' chants

Aberdeen FC have apologised to a St Mirren fan who was targeted by a "totally unacceptable" chant.
Police are investigating the incident as a hate crime after a clip was posted on social media following the match at St Mirren's stadium on Saturday.
The video showed some Aberdeen fans chanting abuse at a St Mirren fan with additional support needs.
Both clubs have condemned the incident and said they will work to identify those responsible.
A spokesperson for Aberdeen said: "The chant is totally unacceptable and not befitting the outstanding Aberdeen support that we experience from the vast majority, both at Pittodrie and on the road.
"We would like to apologise to the St Mirren fan involved and will work with the relevant authorities to assist in their investigation."
St Mirren said it was "appalled" by the video.
"We condemn this in the strongest possible terms," the club said in a statement.
"This behaviour is completely unacceptable and has no place at our stadium, in football or wider society.
"The club will work with Aberdeen FC and relevant authorities to identify the persons responsible."
Insp Megan Logan, of Police Scotland, said the abuse was "despicable" and officers were keen to trace those involved.
She urged anyone with information to get in touch.
