Shindig Festival will take place in Wiltshire for the first time this year

Organisers of a festival dubbed "a pint-sized version of Glastonbury" have appealed for people to sign up to its volunteer programme and get behind-the-scenes access in return.

Shindig Festival is being held at Charlton Park in Wiltshire, the long-running home of Womad, after spending 10 years in Ilminster, Somerset.

Co-founder Simon Clarke said helping at the festival is a "great way to build team spirit".

The event is taking place at the park near Malmesbury from 22 to 25 May.

The festival, which has no main stages, is hosted in a collection of marquees and giant tipis, with some "secret venues" in the arboretum and hidden playgrounds.

Mr Clarke said as well as being "fun and meaningful", volunteering is a way of giving back to the community.

The family-friendly festival has been voted 'Best For Family Rave' by Festival Kidz, a guide to the best family friendly festivals.

Shindig music programmer Stu Matson said the 2025 line up is a "global celebration of rhythm and culture. where afrobeat meets electronic, reggae meets soul, funk meets industrial rap".

Weekend adult tickets are priced at £215 plus booking fee.

Anyone interested in volunteering can apply through the festival website.
