Fold in Newtownards evacuated after fire

A fold in Newtownards, County Down, has been evacuated following a fire on Tuesday evening.

Police are at the scene in the Tower Court area and are assisting emergency services.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) said it received a report of the incident at 18:09 GMT and sent two emergency crews.

Residents were assessed and treated at the scene, but none required hospital treatment.

Cordons are in place and police are asking the public to avoid the area.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) has been approached for comment.
