A man has been jailed for 26 years for abusing three women over a 13-year period.

Nathan Quinn, 35, of Barnsley Road, South Elmsall, pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, one count of assault by penetration, two counts of grievous bodily harm and two counts of controlling and coercive behaviour.

He was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on Wednesday and was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

During sentencing, the judge called it the worst case of controlling and coercive behaviour the court had seen, West Yorkshire Police said.

Restraining orders were also imposed to prevent further contact with the victims, the force added.

Det Sgt Donna Atkinson said: "I want to commend the survivors in this case who have shown immense strength and courage to come forward and report the abuse."

She added: "We are pleased with the total sentence handed to Quinn for the years of abuse he subjected the victims to.

"He is clearly a dangerous offender, who has finally been brought to justice for his heinous crimes."
