A woman was rescued by fire and coastguard crews using "rope techniques" after falling down a ditch and into a stream in Cornwall, the fire and rescue service said.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said it was helped by Falmouth Coastguard's Land's End crew after being scrambled to the incident in Porthcurno on Monday at about 13:50 BST.

Maggie Howell from the coastguard said they used "rope rescue techniques" to "extract the woman".

The woman was uninjured, she added, and the rescue was an example of inter-agency working with Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service.
