A third man has been charged with murder after the death of a teenager in a hit-and-run crash in Sheffield.

Abdullah Yaser Abdullah Al Yazidi, 16, was hit by an Audi on Staniforth Road, Darnall, on 4 June and later died in hospital.

Adam Mohammed, 29, of Acres Hill Road, Sheffield, is also charged with three counts of attempted murder and is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Wednesday after being remanded into custody.

Zulkernain Ahmed, 20, and Amaan Ahmed, 26, both of Locke Drive, Sheffield, are also charged with murder and three counts of attempted murder.

South Yorkshire Police said the grey Audi was driven towards three electric bikes, hitting one rider and later striking Abdullah.

The driver of the Audi failed to stop at the scene, the force said.

On Tuesday, two men aged 30 and 40 were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, with both released on police bail. Two others remain on bail on suspicion of the same offence.

Det Ch Insp Benjamin Wood thanked the local community for "their support with our investigation into this heartbreaking incident".

"Abdullah was an entirely innocent bystander who has sadly lost his life," he said.

"Our thoughts remain with his loved ones who have lost a beloved family member and friend in the most tragic of circumstances."
