A school in Devon has been forced to close due to a burst water main which cut off its water supply.

Some people in Totnes reported having little or no water on Monday morning while South West Water worked to restore the supply.

Stoke Gabriel Community Primary School said it had closed due to the issues.

A spokesperson for South West Water said it had undertaken "emergency repairs" to fix the issue and apologised for any inconvenience the burst had caused.

A spokesperson for the water firm said: "We have restored supply to the school this morning.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience the burst has caused - our team are working as quickly as they can to repair the burst water main."
