Man charged with attempted murder over car crash

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a car mounted a pavement and struck a woman.
The woman suffered "life-changing injuries" when she was hit by a silver Volkswagen Polo on Chanterlands Avenue, Hull, shortly before 07:30 BST on Wednesday, Humberside Police said.
Laurance Worvill, 50, of Spring Bank, Hull, has been charged with attempted murder, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, possession of a weapon in a public place and harassment.
A spokesperson for the force said Worvill had been remanded into custody to appear at Hull Magistrates' Court.
