Warning after litter left behind in new park

Plants have been trampled and litter left behind at a new children's play area in Jersey.

The Parade Gardens play area was one of two public parks that opened on Friday last week.

However, the Parish of St Helier said since the opening "many of the plants" have been trampled and cigarette butts and chewing gum were left discarded on the ground.

It warned vaping and smoking was not permitted in either park and people were reminded to be careful of the plants and use the bins provided.

The new playground is catered for children up to the age of six as, while a refurbished one is for children aged seven and above.

They reopened earlier than planned in time for the Easter holidays.
