Delays to fast craft ferry due sea conditions

Sailings of the fast craft ferry between the Isle of Man and Lancashire and Liverpool have been delayed due to the overnight sea conditions.

The 07:15 BST sailing of the Manannan to Heysham was delayed by about two and a half hours following it late departure from Liverpool in the early hours.

Passengers were told the delay was due to weather routing for the journeys.

Those due to travel on the fast craft were offered the option of transferring to the Manxman's 08:45 sailing to Heysham instead.

Tens of thousands of visiting motorcycle fans are set to travel to and from the island via ferries during the Isle of Man TT races.

Meanwhile, wholesaler G E White Ltd warned that arrival of newspapers had delayed by about three hours, and arrived at about 09:00, due to a docking issue for the Ben-My-Chree.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet's backup vessel is being used for freight journeys throughout the TT fortnight.
