Jailed abusers forced women to drink bleach

A pair who imprisoned and tortured two women, including forcing them to drink bleach, have been jailed.
Mohammed Kasim Khan, 24, and Imaan Coley, 37, inflicted horrific abuse and unimaginable torment on their victims, West Midlands Police said.
One woman, who was held captive for months, had her hair set on fire, while the other was made to eat cat food, was urinated on, and attacked, leaving her with a fractured eye socket.
Coley was jailed for 18 years and Khan for 15 years at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday.
After her months-long imprisonment in a Birmingham property, one of the women managed to escape and seek medical attention, prompting the police investigation, the force said.
It was then a second victim was identified, who had endured a five-hour ordeal at the hands of Coley and Khan.
Coley, who was also known as Rochelle, was found and arrested, but Khan remained at large, prompting appeals through social media and Crimestoppers.
He later handed himself in.
Coley, of no fixed address, was found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent, administering a toxic substance, actual bodily harm (ABH) and false imprisonment. She also pleaded guilty to burglary and an additional ABH charge.
Khan, of Barrows Road, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of administering poison with intent to endanger life and burglary.
'Utterly inhumane'
After sentencing, Det Con Victoria McNulty, from the force's exploitation team, said that she was in awe of the bravery and strength of the two women.
"I hope knowing that these violent individuals are now behind bars for many years brings them some sense of justice," she added.
"This was a case of truly horrific physical and psychological abuse inflicted on two vulnerable women over an extended period. What they endured was utterly inhumane."
