Huge heart-warming tractor send-off for Harry

A teenage boy who died in a farm accident will be honoured with a convoy of tractors when his funeral is held next month.

Harry Moss, 14, died on the morning of 17 April in an incident involving farm machinery in Malvern.

Andy Tipping, chairman of the Vintage Tractor & Engine Club West Midlands Group, said he was expecting up to 60 tractors to take part, adding: "It's Harry's sendoff. We want to give him the best sendoff we can."

The family had been "delighted" about the convoy, he added, and Harry's mother was looking at getting flags printed with Harry's picture on them so they could put one on each tractor.

'Give him best sendoff'

Mr Tipping said Harry used to visit his farm, where he had a collection of about 35 vintage tractors.

Remembering Harry as "full of life", he said the teenager had loved farming, fishing and rugby and "just enjoying life".

He said Harry's friends were taking part in the convoy, and he expected between 50 and 60 tractors to turn up at his farm on the morning of Harry's sendoff.

Some roads would be closed, and motorcycle police would be on hand as the tractors passed through local roads, he said.

The teenager had wanted a vintage tractor, he said, and had been saving for one.

Mr Tipping said the convoy represented "something that Harry would have done himself, eventually".

Jackson Family Funeral Directors have posted arrangements for the funeral in Madresfield on 3 June on social media. Tractors will set off from Brickbarns Farm in Malvern at 10:00 BST.

A fundraising page set up for the family after Harry's death has now raised more than £15,000.

Following Harry's death, police confirmed there had been an accident involving farm machinery and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) had been informed.

The HSE said it was working with West Mercia Police on the investigation.
