Man who carried knife into farm shop charged

A man who was arrested for carrying a knife at a Devon farm shop has been charged, police have said.

Nicholas Courtney, 45, of no fixed abode, was arrested at Darts Farm, Topsham at 10:45 GMT on Monday.

Devon and Cornwall Police said he had been charged with assault by beating an emergency service worker, affray, threatening a person with a bladed article and two counts of possessing a blade in a public place.

No injuries were reported in the incident. Courtney is due to appear at Exeter Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
