Pedestrian suffers serious injuries as car fails to stop

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital with "serious, potentially life-changing" injuries to his pelvis after being hit by a car that failed to stop.
Hampshire police were called to the incident on Montefiore Drive in Sarisbury Green shortly after 03:00 BST on Thursday.
The force said it was trying to locate a dark-coloured car and that no arrests had yet been made.
It said the pedestrian, a 38-year-old man, had been taken to Southampton General Hospital and was in a "stable" condition.
A road closure was in place throughout the morning to allow inquiries to be undertaken.
Detectives said they believed there might have been two people "acting suspiciously in the area" trying car door handles shortly before the incident.
Officers who are carrying out house-to-house inquiries said they were "particularly keen" to hear from anyone who may have doorbell or dashcam footage.
The force appealed for anyone who might have seen the car or "two people acting suspiciously" to get in touch.
