Football fan who threw bottle banned from matches

A man has been banned from attending football matches for three years after he threw a plastic bottle at fans and committed a racially aggravated public order offence at a League One game.
Jordan Clarkson, 20, of Lambourn Place, Lambourn, Berkshire, threw the missile at fans during Oxford United's home match against Reading at the Kassam Stadium on 3 February 2024.
Clarkson admitted throwing the bottle but denied the racially aggravated public order offence and was found guilty by Oxford magistrates.
They also ordered him to pay a £300 fine.
PC Alex Locke, of Thames Valley Police, said the force is working with the football club to "combat football-related offences".
He added: "Football banning orders not only restrict supporters convicted of football-related offences from watching the team they follow but also apply to all regulated football matches in the United Kingdom and some international matches and tournaments as well.
"Football matches should be a safe place for all people and Thames Valley Police will always deal with incidents at football matches robustly."
