A 75-year-old motorcyclist has died in a crash in North Yorkshire, prompting a police appeal.

The crash involved a red Triumph motorbike and happened at about 15:40 BST on Wednesday on a minor road near Malton between Coulton and Yearsley.

North Yorkshire Police said the motorbike was heading towards Hovingham and travelling in company with a blue Aprilia motorcycle when the collision took place.

The rider of the Triumph, from Driffield, was pronounced dead at the scene, officers said, with witnesses and those with useful dashcam footage asked to contact police.
