Van driver seriously hurt in three-vehicle crash

A 67-year-old man has been seriously injured in a crash involving two cars and a van in Peterhead.

The accident happened on South Road at about 15:30 on Tuesday.

The man, who was driving the van, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. His current condition is not known.

Police said the occupants of the other two vehicles had received treatment for "non-serious injuries".

The road was closed for about six hours to allow an accident investigation to take place.

The crash involed a white Kia Ceed, a white Volkswagen Transporter and a red Seat Alhambra.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.
