Police officer taken to hospital after knife attack

A police officer has been injured in a knife attack during a night-time patrol.
Officers from Cambridgeshire Police were carrying out patrols in Eagle Street, Cambridge, when they stopped a car just before 03:00 GMT over concerns about drug dealing.
"Two men got out of the car and one of them assaulted one of the officers with a knife," a spokesperson for the force said.
He was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital but his injury is not believed to be life-threatening, they added.
"One man has been arrested and is currently on his way to custody," the spokesperson said.
"A cordon is in place at the scene, the road is currently closed and an investigation is ongoing."
An appeal has been launched for information.
