Town rangers get ready to patrol Farnham

Shoppers and businesses in Farnham are to get a security boost from next week, as new town rangers go on patrol.
The teams are part of the local Business Improvement District's (BID) five-year plan.
"Town Rangers, as the public face of the BID, will be responsible for engaging with businesses and visitors," the body said.
The rangers will also reduce business crime, monitoring the street scene and contracts, as well as dealing with anti-social behaviour issues, working with partners such as the police, it added.
The BID said the key focus was to improve "perception and experience through enhancing the level of customer service and tourist information".
SWL Security Services, which is providing the rangers, said the teams were "committed to serving the client by preventing crime, preserving the public realm and promoting the interests of the community."
It described them as a "walking and talking return on their investment working towards enhancing and protecting the area they represent".
The rangers, it said, would become a "proactive and visible bridge between businesses, the glue that binds the community together... advocates for the BID".
