Several parked cars were hit by the vehicle and two people were taken to hospital to be assessed for injuries

A police investigation has been launched after a car crashed into parked vehicles on a residential road.

South Wales Police said officers were called to reports of the incident on Coegnant Road, Caerau, Maesteg, at 12:45am on Thursday morning.

The force confirmed two people were taken to hospital to be assessed for their injuries.

"No arrests have been made but investigations into the cause of the collision continue," it added.
