New mural 'will bring vibrancy to underpass'

The first section of a large mural commissioned by businesses to bring "vibrancy and creativity" to an underpass has been completed.
Poole Business Improvement District (BID) said the large-scale artwork, which it ordered, would be completed by May 2025.
It will celebrate Poole's "rich history and natural beauty" Poole BID said, with one half of the tunnel dedicated to local heritage and the other to the area's wildlife.
A "striking" red squirrel, which is associated with nearby Brownsea Island, has already been completed on the underpass, which links Poole Bus Station and The Lighthouse theatre.
Tech Moon, the artist behind the mural, said the reaction so far had been "inspiring", adding: "I can't wait for people to experience the full piece once it's completed."
He said he was "incredibly excited" to bring a "bold, creative vision" to the underpass.
"The mural is designed to reflect both the history and nature of this amazing area, creating an immersive experience for those who pass through," he added.

The artwork has been commissioned by Poole BID using a Town Centre Improvement Grant from Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council.
CEO of Poole BID Jacqui Rock thanked the council for their support, saying: "Public art has the power to transform spaces, and this project is a great example of how we can enhance our town centre while supporting local artists."
"This mural is a fantastic way to celebrate Poole's unique heritage and stunning natural environment," she said.
Ms Rock added that the mural would "become a landmark for both residents and visitors" in years to come.
