Man arrested after two hurt in serious assault

A 30-year-old man has been arrested after a serious assault in Inverness on Sunday.

Police said they were called to Craigton Avenue in Merkinch around 19:30 after reports of two injured people in a property.

A woman and a man were taken to Raigmore Hospital with serious injuries.

Officers said it was a contained incident, adding that they were not looking for anyone else.
