Man charged after police officer dragged by car

A man has been charged after a police officer was dragged along a road by a moving car in County Tyrone.
The officer was left with multiple fractures to his foot, as well as cuts and bruises and is expected to be unable to work for some time following the incident in Beltany Road in Omagh on Sunday night.
A 24-year-old man has been charged with offences, including driving with excess alcohol and causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving.
He is due to appear before Omagh Magistrates' Court on 8 July.
The 24-year-old is also charged with assaulting a police officer and failing to stop for police.
