Rain and thunderstorm warning brought forward

The Met Office has brought forward a yellow thunderstorm warning for Devon and Cornwall which could lead to flooding and disruption.

The warning had originally been issued from 18:00 BST on Friday, but has been brought forward to 14:00 and continues until 18:00 on Saturday.

It said there could be travel disruption, flooded homes and businesses and "a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads".

The Met Office added there was also a chance of lightning strikes which could cause delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.

There are two flooding alerts which have also been issued for the River Plym and Tory Brook as well as the Upper River Tamar.

There were heavy downpours on Thursday with disruption to roads and some businesses.
