Man knocked unconscious in taxi rank attack

A man has been knocked unconscious and his wife assaulted after two men pushed in front of the couple while they were waiting for a taxi.
The pair were waiting at a taxi rank in Selby Market Place at around midnight on Saturday 22 March, when two men pushed in front of them, North Yorkshire Police said.
The man was treated in hospital after he was punched and knocked unconscious, police said, while his wife suffered hand and arm injuries.
Officers have appealed for witnesses and said they were reviewing CCTV footage and trying to locate the relevant taxi firms for further information.
Police said the suspects, of whom there is no description, left the scene in a taxi.
The force has released a description of the victims, saying the injured man was wearing a white T-shirt and a stone Carhartt overshirt, blue jeans and trainers with an orange stripe.
The woman was wearing a black knee-length dress with a dark blue denim jacket, and a green handbag and knee-length boots.
