Father and son in blow-up kayak rescued from sea

A father and his eight-year-old young son were rescued by volunteer lifesavers after being swept out to sea from a Cornwall beach.
Holywell Bay Surf Life Saving Club (HBSLSC) said a life-saver spotted the pair in an inflatable kayak off Holywell Bay, near Newquay, after they had been caught by an offshore wind on Wednesday.
He and another volunteer paddled out to them on rescue boards and pulled them back safely to the beach using a rope.
HBSLSC praised the "top work" of its volunteers, describing them as "absolute legends".
HBSLSC said another man had been rescued by a life-saver after he was swept out to sea by an offshore wind the previous evening.
The club said: "Please stay safe and always check the conditions before entering the water."
