The family of a man who died in a crash in Plymouth have said they are "heartbroken and in utter and complete shock".

Stephen Hawnton, 63, died at the scene on North Prospect Road on Friday, 11 April.

Paying tribute to him, his family said: "He was truly the most kind, caring and genuine man that you would have ever met.

"The best son, husband, dad and grandad. He will be missed by all that knew him."

They added: "We would like to extend our thanks to all the emergency services and local residents for all their help and support on the day. We will forever be grateful.

"Gone from our sight but never from our hearts. Until we meet again all our love forever and always."

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said inquiries were continuing into Mr Hawnton's death but it was not being treated as suspicious.
