A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries after colliding with a car on the A12.

Essex Police said the crash was reported near Brentwood shortly after 11:00 BST and the rider was taken to hospital.

The southbound carriageway was fully closed for three hours between junction 12 for Mountnessing and the Brook Street roundabout, where the A12 meets the M25.

A single lane was reopened shortly after 14:00.

Essex Police appealed for information, including dashcam footage, which can be submitted via its website, quoting incident 434 of 25 June.
