Performers to bring passion play to city streets

Officials at Hull Minister say they have been "overwhelmed" by the number of people wanting to take part in a passion play.
The event, on Good Friday, 18 April, is believed to be the first of its kind in the city in modern times.
More than 40 performers will tell the story of Jesus's life, crucifixion and resurrection in various locations in the city centre.
The event will start at 11:00 BST in Trinity Square. Performers will make their way down Whitefriargate to Queen Victoria Square and back.
Becky Howes, the parish administrator, said: "We were overwhelmed with people interested in getting involved. It's so exciting and it'll be a spectacle."
The cast was recruited by the minster in February and Ms Howes said the response had been "incredible".
"We didn't need to do auditions because there are so many parts. We've even got two people playing Jesus, but that will help as we move around the streets.
"The most iconic part will be Jesus carrying the cross through Whitefriargate. We've made the cross, it's solid wood and its heavy.
"The audience will be able to walk the route with us and, in other places where these plays have been, people have really got involved by getting dressed up.
"We want people to join in and add to the experience."
The passion play is part of a programme of events to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the Hull Minster, which was completed and consecrated in 1425.
