Residents asked for views on housing allocation

Wolverhampton residents are being asked to give feedback on planned updates to the council's housing allocation policy.
The policy is used to make sure council homes are granted fairly and transparently to those in greatest need, the authority said.
Changes were needed to reflect new government guidance, as well the as growing demand for homes, and rising costs of temporary accommodation, it said.
A consultation is being held online, and there will also be in-person events across the city.
The council had limited housing stock, due to "national factors" and financial pressures all authorities were facing, said cabinet member for housing, Steve Evans.
The eight-week consultation was a vital piece of work to help decide how best to allocate homes, Mr Evans added.
The policy updates aimed to prioritise those with the most urgent needs, reduce the risk of homelessness and reduce the time people stayed in temporary accommodation, the council said.
The review would also support regeneration and redevelopment work, and the delivery of new homes, it added.
