A 13-year-old boy has died in a multi-vehicle crash on a main road in Surrey, police have said.

The three-vehicle collision happened on the A25 Godstone Road between Bletchingley and Godstone at 20:10 BST on Monday.

The boy, a front seat passenger in one of the vehicles, died at the scene.

The driver was taken to hospital and is in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital with an arm injury.

The occupant of the third suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed for several hours from North Park Lane to Waterhouse Lane while emergency services, including the air ambulance, dealt with the incident.

A police spokesperson said the investigation into the circumstances of the crash was ongoing.
