Case dismissed against murder suspect after stabbing

A murder suspect's case has been dismissed after a teenager was stabbed in a park.

Cartell Williams, 28, was one of three men charged with the murder of Eddie King Muthemba Kinuthia. The 19-year-old was attacked on 21 July, 2023, close to his home in the Grosvenor Road in St Pauls, Bristol.

The charge against Williams was dismissed at a hearing at Bristol Crown Court on Tuesday, but he continues to serve a prison term for other offences.

Zachariah Talbert Young, 27, of Easton, and Paul Elijah Hayden, 21, of Hanham, will face trial later this year. They both deny the charges against them.

Remi Hitchcock, 30, of Easton, also faces trial accused of assisting an offender in relation to the death of Mr Kinuthia.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "Eddie's family are still waiting for justice with dignity and strength, and they are always in our thoughts."

The trial is due to begin on 6 October and is expected to last up to six weeks.
