A 42-year-old man has died three days after he was hit by a car in Bradford.

Shabbir Ahmed, 42, was injured when he was struck by a black Audi Q3 on Great Horton Road, at its junction with Havelock Street, on Thursday at around 10:00 GMT.

Mr Ahmed died in hospital on Sunday, West Yorkshire Police said. The driver of the Audi failed to stop at the scene.

A fourth person has been arrested in connection with the incident, after three others were detained last week.

All four suspects, who are males aged between 17 and 35, have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

According to the community Facebook page Janaza Announcements, Mr Ahmed was a father of two and worked as a kitchen fitter.

Officers have asked for any witnesses to come forward.
