Moment Just Stop Oil airport protesters arrested
Police have shared footage of the moment three Just Stop Oil protesters were arrested on their way to Manchester Airport, where they planned to glue themselves to the taxiway.
Footage shows officers arresting Indigo Rumbelow, Daniel Knorr and Margaret Reid as they were making their way to the airport on 5 August last year.
Officers also arrested Leanorah Ward, who is not seen in the footage from Greater Manchester Police.
All four were found guilty of conspiracy to intentionally cause a public nuisance and jailed at Manchester Minshull Crown Court for between 18 and 30 months on Tuesday. Additionally, they were each fined £2,000.
The protesters were equipped with heavy-duty bolt-cutters, angle grinders, glue, sand, Just Stop Oil high-visibility vests and a leaflet containing instructions to follow when interacting with police.
Ms Rumbelow, 31, from Tottenham, was jailed for 30 months and Mr Knorr, 23, of Birmingham, was jailed for 24 months.
Ms Reid, 54, from Kendal, and Ms Ward, 22, from Birmingham, were both jailed for 18 months.
