Knitters' special delivery for premature babies
After the Nimble Fingers knitting group was featured on BBC London in autumn 2024, they were inundated with donations of wool from up and down the country.
With a garage full of wool to work with, the ladies - who meet every Wednesday in Chadwell Heath, east London - have spent the winter months handcrafting hats, blankets, teddy bears and other small items for premature babies, alongside their usual work for rough sleepers and baby banks.
We went along as they hand-delivered their woollen creations to the neonatal intensive care unit at Queen's Hospital in Romford.
