The self-proclaimed dullest man in Britain has launched a series of merchandise depicting Birmingham's ongoing bin strike.

In a collection named "rats as big as cats", Kevin Beresford created a calendar, jigsaw and mugs featuring photos he had taken of piles of rubbish from the strike, which has been escalating in the city without resolution since January.

"This is quite frankly, putting it bluntly, an embarrassment for the city of Birmingham.

"I've done this to show them all up," Mr Beresford said, adding: "This has gone on too long, it's ridiculous."

Mr Beresford, who was born in Small Heath, has made several other "mundane" calendars in the past - including benches in Redditch.

"What could be more mundane than rubbish?" he said.

In its latest statement to the BBC, Birmingham City Council said it remained committed to delivering "a fair and sustainable deal for drivers and collectors".

"This has gone all around the world, this story," Mr Beresford said.

"It's the only way I know I can protest about it."

The mug is printed with a picture of a pile of bin bags in the city, with the words "I've survived Birmingham's non bin collection".

The calendar features pictures from different areas across the city, with photos of black bin bags piled high, litter strewn across pavements and overflowing bins.
