Drivers urged to plan ahead of more M25 closures

Motorists are being warned to plan ahead for further closures of the M25 in Surrey.
All slip roads off junction 10 of the M25 will be closed between 21 and 24 February, while the motorway will be closed in both directions between junction 10, at Wisley, and junction 11, at Woking, between 7 and 10 March, as well as from 21 until 24 March.
AA patrol worker, Shaun Jones, said: "We advise drivers to avoid the west side of the M25 if possible, but if unavoidable, to expect delays and stick to the detour routes."
The closures are part of National Highways' £317m project to add extra lanes at junction 10, where the motorway meets the A3.
The closures will begin at 21:00 GMT each Friday and will be lifted by 06:00 GMT each Monday.
Mr Jones added: "Prepare your vehicle before setting off by checking oil and coolant levels, tyres and make sure you have enough fuel or electric charge to cover the planned diversions."
The AA also warned that drivers can expect the roads surrounding the Wisley stretch of the A3 to have increased traffic.
The project began in 2022 and was due to complete in the summer of 2025, but National Highways recently announced it had been delayed by about nine months due to "periods of extreme weather".
Following the closures, there are no further planned closures of the M25 main carriageway.
