Police are appealing for information after a girl who was hit by a car was left needing mouth surgery.

A collision is reported to have taken place on Upperton Road in Leicester at about 18:10 GMT on 12 February.

Leicestershire Police said the driver, who was travelling from the direction of Narborough Road, was not injured.

PC Lewis Sparling, from the force's road policing unit, said: "We have been carrying out of number of enquiries in relation to this incident and would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen the collision or the circumstances leading up to it to please get in touch."
