A man has been jailed for sexually abusing two boys in the 1980s and 1990s.

Raymond Tombs, 59, was in his 20s when he started to abuse the boys, who were both under 14 at the time.

The crimes came to light after one of the victims spoke to a family member about what had happened.

Tombs, of Longley Crescent, Birmingham, was found guilty of six offences of indecency against children following a trial and was jailed for nine years at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday.

Kuli Mudhar from West Midlands Police said: "The children who endured this abuse are now adults and have shown immense bravery in coming forward to say what has happened.

"It is due to their courage that this abuser is now behind bars, sending a clear message that we will always pursue such matters, even when decades have gone by."
