Award for hospital's orthopaedic work
A private Wolverhampton hospital is celebrating an award for its safety and standards of care.
Nuffield Health Wolverhampton Hospital was recognised for its standards in orthopaedic work.
It was the second year in a row it had been given a "gold" award from the National Joint Registry (NJR), the hospital said.
The NJR said the site collected orthopaedic data to provide evidence of patient safety, standards in quality of care, and overall value in joint replacement surgery to win the award, which was available to all NHS and independent sector hospitals performing the procedure in England and Wales.
The hospital, which specialises in orthopaedics, cosmetic surgery, ophthalmology and oncology, said it met six targets to achieve the gold quality data provider award.
Charlie Cooper, the hospital's director of operations, said it was a "tremendous achievement" for the team, and being recognised for a second year was "a well-deserved reward".
