Woman found dead in Croydon house named by police

A 31-year-old woman who was found dead at a house in Croydon, south London on Monday has been named by police as Jamelatu Tsiwah.

Police and paramedics were called to a property on Bensham Lane on Monday following reports of an unresponsive woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death was due to neck compression.

Larry Nimoh, aged 21, has been charged with murder and attempted murder and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court later, the Metropolitan Police added.

In addition, the force said a second man, 21, arrested on suspicion of murder had been bailed, pending further investigation.

Det Ch Insp Alex Gammampila said: "I am still keen to hear from anyone who may have been in Bensham Road on Monday between 18:00 GMT and 19:00 GMT.

"I would like to hear from you if you think you may have seen something suspicious taking place, or if you saw someone fleeing from the property on Bensham Lane."
