Boy stabbed in street after being chased by gang

A 16-year-old boy is being treated in hospital for stab wounds after being attacked by a gang of youths in Edinburgh.

The attack took place in Stenhouse Avenue West at about 21:00 on Sunday.

Police said the motive for the stabbing was not known.

Officers have been carrying out door-to-door inquiries and are gathering CCTV footage from in and around the area.

Det Sgt Kim Tennant said: "It's imperative we trace those responsible.

"We have been made aware of potential footage of this incident circulating online. If anyone has seen this footage, please get in touch.

"If you have doorbell recording equipment or dash cams, please check the footage as it could have captured vital images which could assist us in identifying those responsible for this attack."
