A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two people were injured last summer.

West Midlands Police said the arrest followed an incident in Clapgate Lane, Bartley Green, Birmingham, on 28 August where a man suffered a gunshot wound and another man a fractured skull.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Saturday night.

The arrest followed a short foot chase after officers stopped a suspicious vehicle, police said.

"The two victims are continuing to recover from their injuries," the West Midlands force added.
