Two injured after firearm shot in city street
Two people have been treated in hospital after a firearm was shot in a residential street.
Police were called to Stanway Road in Gloucester at 21:00 GMT on Saturday after a report that a man had suffered a suspected gunshot wound.
The man in his 40s is still in hospital, while a woman has been discharged.
The scene remains cordoned off and police are asking anyone who saw two motorcycles being ridden in convoy in the Coney Hill and Abbeymead areas to contact them.
It is understood that three suspects travelled to the scene on two motorcycles. They were all wearing dark clothing and helmets, officers said.
Extra police patrols are now taking place in the area.
'Violent crime'
Det Insp Paula Hannaford said: "It is really concerning that a firearm has been discharged on our streets and two people have been injured.
"This level of violent crime will understandably cause concern within our communities, and it will not be tolerated.
"We're doing everything we can to identify those responsible and we're asking for any witnesses or anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward."
