Santa sleigh tour raises £9,000 for charity
A Santa sleigh tour of Wolverhampton has raised more than £9,000 for charity.
Hosted by Tettenhall Rotary Club, the sleigh visited places like Bushbury, Low Hill and Claregate, bringing greetings from Santa and the elves along with photo opportunities and sweet treats.
The club started the sleigh tradition 22 years ago "to put joy back into the community" and it has visited the city every Christmas since.
Donations collected from the visits will support 35 charities across Wolverhampton and local areas like Compton Care, the Good Shepherd and Big Venture Centre.
Children and parents were able to monitor Santa's movements through an online tracker as they awaited for him to arrive.
"People are massively generous. Things are quite tough and we're doing anything to help really," club member Mark Heywood said.
