Pensioner had £800 stolen as he tried to buy car

A pensioner had £800 stolen from him as he tried to pay for a car.
The incident happened in Harrogate on 6 February when the victim tried to hand over the cash to a delivery driver on Lanshaw Street, North Yorkshire Police said.
Officers said it was believed the suspect had earlier followed the victim to his bank on Station Parade.
As the elderly man tried to pay for the car, the suspect grabbed the envelope and claimed he was counting the money, before running off with it onto Station Parade.
Police said the suspect was described as being white, with short ginger hair, aged in his late thirties and of stocky build.
He was believed to be wearing jeans and blue waterproofs.
