Traffic is building on the northbound carriageway of the M1 in Northamptonshire due to the closure

A motorway has been partly closed after a lorry overturned in a collision.

The M1 northbound carriageway was closed between junction 16 (Weedon Bec) and junction 18 (Crick) in Northamptonshire at about 07:15 GMT.

National Highways said it had to close the road "to facilitate the complex recovery of the lorry" with other repairs needed to the nearside barrier.

A diversion route is in place with drivers advised to follow the triangle symbol.
