Man, 83, who died in Gretna crash named by police

A man who died in a crash near Gretna which left five people in hospital has been named by police.

Jackson Pringle was fatally injured in the incident involving a black Peugeot 3008 and white Ford Transit van on the A75 at about 11:10 on 16 December.

Mr Pringle, 83, who was driving the Peugeot, was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, but died the following day.

A 77-year-old man was also taken to hospital with serious injuries, while three other men, aged 77, 60 and 31 were also taken for treatment as a precaution.

Sgt Colin Ramage said: "Our thoughts remain with Mr Pringle's family and friends at this very difficult time.

"Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch with us.

"In particular, if you were driving in the area at the time, please check your dash-cam footage to see if you captured anything that could assist our investigation."
